HArmonyCA - The Latest Dermal Filler From Allergan
It's a really exciting time in the world of aesthetic medicine because new and innovative treatments are emerging all the time, all with clinical studies to evidence the outcomes patients can expect to see.
HArmonyCA is the latest addition to the Juvederm range from Allergan, which has been an incredibly popular hyaluronic acid based dermal filler range for quite some time now. So, let's delve a little bit deeper into what makes this new addition different from other aesthetic treatments and the outcomes it can provide.
What is HArmonyCA?
This innovative injectable combines calcium hydroxyapatite and hyaluronic acid in one dual-effect hybrid treatment.
As a powerful hydrator, the hyaluronic acid within the formulation offers instant results in the form of a visibly lifted and more radiant complexion. Calcium hydroxyapatite is an effective biostimulator and works to support the body's natural collagen production process over time.
So, in addition to immediately visible results, throughout the 12-18 months following your treatment you will notice gradual improvement to the appearance of your skin, ultimately providing you with a tighter, firmer looking complexion.
How Does HArmonyCA Work?
HArmonyCA can be injected into the jawline and the cheeks using a cannula, which will ensure the formulation is distributed properly throughout the mid-face. The hyaluronic acid will be diffused between individual collagen fibres in the lower dermal layer of the skin, which is what will provide you with an immediately lifted appearance.
The calcium hydroxyapatite will then get to work in the dermis to boost the development of new fibroblasts, which combine to form a new collagen framework to support the structure of the skin and deliver a firmer, more youthful looking complexion.
What Can I Expect From HArmonyCA?
HArmonyCA can be administered as a complementary treatment alongside dermal fillers and can provide excellent outcomes in people experiencing a loss of firmness, skin sagging, reduced volume in the mid-face and cheeks, and accordion lines which run vertically between the ears and the lips.
As HArmonyCA is not injected around the mouth, eyes or lips, it is important to discuss your skin concerns with your practitioner in order to ensure you are investing in the best aesthetic treatments for your needs.
How Does HArmonyCA Differ From Other Treatments Such As Profhilo and Sculptra?
Profhilo is an excellent treatment option for smoothing lines and boosting skin quality over time, however it generally won't last as long as HArmonyCA. But, don't forget that Profhilo is suitable for a range of treatment areas, so it offers a little more versatility.
Treatments like Sculptra and Lanluma are formulated with polylactic acid varieties, which can also successfully stimulate collagen production. However, these treatments work over a period of time and don't provide immediate results.
What Will Happen During My HArmonyCA Treatment Session?
Ahead of your treatment, you should have a one-to-one consultation with your aesthetic practitioner to determine whether HArmonyCA is the most suitable treatment for you. During this consultation, your practitioner will seek to understand what you hope to achieve from your treatment and assess both your skin and your facial anatomy.
Each HArmonyCA treatment session will last for approximately 30 minutes, during which one 1.25ml syringe of the treatment will be administered into each side of the face. Some patients will benefit from an additional treatment approximately four weeks later. You can expect the lifted effect to last for up to 18 months following your treatment session.
As an injectable treatment, it is important that HArmonyCA is administered by an experienced aesthetic practitioner in order to obtain the best, most natural looking outcome.
